How can we best lift up the name of God in all we do? How can we most effectively share the good news of Jesus with the great variety of people that the Lord has placed us among in downtown Columbia?
We answer these questions partly through our conviction that the gospel, the good news, is for all people, from every culture, language, and place in life. Our vision is for an increasingly diverse expression of the body of Christ in downtown Columbia which welcomes all people and reaches out with the love and truth and compassion of Jesus to everyone we meet.
In keeping with this vision, we are looking for God to bring to us people who have faith and excitement about His grace and power to change lives and to tear down walls that divide people. We want to be closely connected to Jesus, "the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God." - Colossians 2:19 ESV
Yes, we are all sinners, saved only by the grace of God, who saw us in our lost and desperate condition and reached out to us in love by giving His only Son, Jesus, to take our punishment for us through His death on the cross. Our hope and prayer is that many, many sinners will find forgiveness, hope, love, and acceptance in Jesus as we grow together in His Word and in His heart for all people.
